A person of 160lbs. would find a #6 to be a conservative average size, and a #7 to be an ample average size. Thus, #5 is smaller (small average) and #8 a larger average. A person of 200lbs. might find the scale shifts by one so that a #7 would be conservative average and #8 and ample average. Likewise, a person of 140lbs. should shift the scale in the other direction.

There are many factors which determine the appropriate size for a given individual. (Body shape and size, bra characteristics, and personal preferences, for instance.)

Remember, these typical fittings are influenced by the amount of breast tissue. If you opt on the conseravative side you can increase size by adding backing material, such as polyester fiberfill.

Determining Your Size Measure completely around your body below the bust. Add 5 to get your bra size. To detemine cup size, measure over the desired bust area (directly across the nipple) and subtract the bra size. If the measurement over the nipple is 5" larger than the measurement under the bust line you are a DD. 4" larger would be a D, 3" larger would be a C and 2" larger would make your cup size B.

Additional Notes Among the full breasts the different styles are mostly a difference in surface (contact) shape and therefore, angle at which the breast extends from the surface. (Sharp rise vs. "feathered.") Any full bra will cover the breasts.

To those who use adhesive to affix the breasts to the body, usually without a bra, the new "skin" is somewhat more fragile because the breasts are softer, more pliable, and dyanamic (they move a lot). So, be careful. Adding a nipple to the front is no problem since they are not sharp and these additions do not require adhesive. If you plan to add nipples/areola consider breasts without colored areola. This gives you, more freedom of placement.
